Providing a new and

patient care

• Establish minimum requirements and certifications for membership.

• Promote regionally and nationally to find quality applicants.

• Do background and financial checks on applicants.

• Approve memberships.

• Establish norms such as; maximum number of patients per member, suggested number of visits and phone communications, choosing stables of quality outside service providers etc.

• Establish and negotiate local pricing models with insurance providers for different lengths and severity levels of service and patient needs. Fees will be flat, tiered monthly payments (based on severity of patient’s needs) which will cover all of members personal services. MAA can submit and payout members insurance claims for payment.

• Establish required patient services for members: communication with physicians, give medical guidance, coordinate needed treatments, i.e., Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition, Psychological help, always be there for your patient, etc.

• Establish on going opportunities for education and training in medical specialties and other related fields.

• Establish educational courses for competency and training for other patient services and advice such as, insurance, financial planning, social work, learning family dynamics and counseling, etc.

• Create training videos and have annual conventions for ongoing training, meeting other members, speakers, and establishing best practices.

• Create opportunities for ongoing and updated certification processes.

• Help create and advise on relationships with hospitals and medical practices.

• Be the liaison and negotiate with national and regional Governments, Health insurance companies, liability insurance companies etc.

• Set up a buying group to get discounts on products and services for members.

• Create a complete IT Platform

• Send out quarterly advocate quality of service surveys to doctors and patients

Advocate Functions

• Member will set up Individual company. Example: Jane Smith, Medical Advocate LLC. - Member of Medical Advocates of America.

• Members will pay an annual fee for membership and services.

•  Members must have minimum experience and certifications.

•  Members will serve, advocate and work directly for their patients.

•  Members, when needed, will become involved with the medical, psychological and financial needs of their patients and families.

•  Members will create relationships and partner with medical practices, hospitals and medical centers and nursing homes.

•  Members will be a liaison between medical teams and the patient. They will keep in communication with the patient’s insurance providers and patient’s healthcare professionals and keep proper records for their patients’ current and historical conditions, treatments and needs.

•  Members will create a stable of quality service providers in the areas of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nutrition, Mental Health and any other areas of patient needs.

•  Members must display empathy, as well as the desire and capability to serve the individual needs of their patients and their families whenever needed

•  Members will have continuing education and be recertified on a periodic basis.

•  Member’s scope of practice will specialize and function within the specific state nurse practice act. This includes the ability to provide a “nursing diagnosis”, create a care plan for family and auxiliary personnel, advocate for services to physicians and other providers. Member will have communication skills for all involved in patient care. Member will have the ability to do a home assessment, and work within and improve the current environment. Member will have the ability to research adaptive equipment to promote patient health and safety. Member will refer based on PPO network. Members will adhere to the highest standards of medical practice and to the rules and regulations of the Corporation.

•  No actions, procedures, or treatments would be ordered or performed without the agreement, approval and referral of the patient’s physicians. This creates real partnerships.
